A Melt Your Heart Moment

Tonight at dinner with no prompting from his parents, Andrew started to reach for our hands--the Young family sign for "time to pray up."  I watched him grab our hands & look to his Dad.  Jeff lead us in the Young family prayer that has been passed down the line over the years.

"Bless this food. Bless this drink and keep sickness from the midst of us. Amen!"

Usually the hearty "Amen" results in a toss of the hand overhead with Andrew initiating another round of praying up.  Tonight was a bit different.  Instead he grabbed our hands, closed his eyes and started praying up for us.  Yes, tears were shed by both parents tonight watching our son lead the family in prayer for the first time.

What gets me most is that we have never prompted him to close his eyes.  He learned that on his own by watching his Dad lead us. Goosebumps and warm fuzzies! Oh how  I love that my son has a strong man of God to emulate like Jeff.  And how grateful to have had the camera in reaching distance to snap this moment to remember forever the first time Andrew lead our family in prayer.
