Swim Lessons 2012

Andrew finished his second year of swim lessons today and all I can say is "Oh the difference a year makes." Let's just say that this year was a lot more challenging than last year and although we worked through it and ended up having a great time, it was not before he had many two year old size tantrums & trips to the bathroom to talk it out.  (Note to self: go an hour later next year & possibly later in summer when warmer)

Towards the end of the two weeks, the little dude was starting to show signs of having no fear when it comes to water.  The last day in the pool, he was standing on the steps and jumped in to another one of the Mom's in the class.  I am so thankful that she was there and could catch him because he did not give any warning before he jumped.

Miss Emily was our teacher again this summer & we loved having her with us.  She is such a sweet girl and very good at teaching the two year olds (who usually wanted nothing to do with her while in the pool but couldn't wait to see her in the mornings)  we love Emily and are so thankful to have her be our swim teacher, water aerobics girl and babysitter gal this summer.

The last class was fun Friday where we were able to play at "the cup" as Kendall calls it. I promised Andrew that we would take him down the slide after he finished his lessons.  The picture above is his first water slide ever! Thankful that Jeff came to his last class today and captured this memory.  Andrew LOVED it!  We later ventured down the big slide where I had Miss Emily take him the first time.  He wanted to go again & again--even after the first two runs when his mom lost her footing and he went under.  He was not happy with us for taking him out of the pool and would probably still be going up the slide, saying "Wee!" all the way down if we would have let him.

Thank you Kelli & Kendall for taking swim lessons with us again this year.  We enjoy spending this time with you girls and look forward to many more years.  Kelli, we are one year closer to sitting on the side of the pool sipping coffee while the littles learn the fundamentals of swimming!
