Family of 3 Weekend

When Friday afternoon rolled around & we were without a car with a working a/c (the family car was in the shop) we declared this weekend, Family of 3 weekend.  What a blessing to have my two boy all to myself! We would have enjoyed it better if it hadn't been for the sniffling, sneezing, runny noses that seemed to have hit the Young house Saturday night.

Here are a few highlights from this Family of Three Weekend:

  • Andrew watching Cars for the first time propped up on a pillow, drinking a bottle.
  • Andrew experiencing his first ever waffle which HE LOVED!  Yep, that's proof he's our son.
  • Swimming at the pool Saturday and running into a few of our swim class friends.
  • Naps, naps and more naps!
  • Netflix movies (Emma, The Red Violin, Secretariat and Witness for the Prosecution)
  • I fixed my favorite meal:  Caesar salad, Mozzarella Alla Caprese & (Store bought) Bread for dipping in Olive Oil
  • Jeff's grilled chicken
  • Andrew drinking out of a straw like a big boy (he loves to make the sucking noise)
  • Andrew & I playing on a blanket while Daddy got his grill on
  • watching our son army crawl all over the living room & venturing down the hall---too cute!
  • reading books with Andrew.  Pat the Bunny is his favorite but he has started to bite the bunny instead of pat.  Hearing his giggles when I tickle him & say "Pat the Bunny, Andrew not Bite!" will forever change the way I read this book :)
Those are just a few of the highlights from our family of three weekend! We have decided this is the best way to unwind after a long, go-go-go week at work.  It was delightful (minus the dripping nose, of course)
