Last night was a big night for the Young family. Our friend Mike contacted us a few weeks ago and asked if we would be interested in helping out with a charity event for the Dallas Cowboys at the Gaylord in Texas. I sang with the band & Jeff ran the sound board. As we were lugging all of our sound equipment up the stairs, a guy stops us and asks who we are with. Mike started to tell this guy that we were the new up & coming band, "The Soggy Bottom Band." So for the rest of the night that is the name we dubbed ourselves. (now I want to watch O Brother Where Art Thou again)
This event was a time to bless families who had in recent days fled to a women's shelter in the area. The women and children were compleley surprised with a trip to the Ice Exhibit, dinner, gifts and a chance to meet a few of the Dallas Cowboy players. (and yes, the whole time i was there I kept thinking JGB needs to be here singing with me--since she is DC's #1 fan) They ended the night with a Romo reading Twas the Night Before Christmas.
What a fun way to kick off the holiday season--even if you are a Charger fan!
